Purpose of the Role

The Farm Manager is the operational leader of the GrowSmart Morija farm, responsible for the efficient, profitable and climate-smart day-to-day running of the site — overseeing all production, managing the team and resources, operating the solar-powered IoT irrigation system, and maintaining the records, budgets and standards that keep the operation productive, safe and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and oversee all crop production cycles to meet yield, quality and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate open-field, raised-bed and protected (tunnel/greenhouse) production.
  • Operate, monitor and maintain the solar-powered, IoT-enabled irrigation system.
  • Recruit, supervise, schedule and motivate farm workers and seasonal labour.
  • Forecast, procure and manage seeds, seedlings, fertilisers and other inputs cost-effectively.
  • Operate within the approved farm budget and track expenditure.
  • Oversee the care, protection and maintenance of all farm tools, machinery and equipment to maximise lifespan and minimise downtime.
  • Maintain a maintenance schedule, conduct regular inspections of all tools, machinery and equipment, and ensure safe storage and proper use by all farm workers.
  • Maintain accurate production, input, labour, irrigation and financial records.
  • Coordinate harvest, grading, packaging and dispatch to buyer specifications.
  • Act as on-site point of contact for LECSA, suppliers, buyers and visitors.
  • Coordinate with Ministry of Agriculture extension officers at the Morija Resource Centre for technical advice, training and project support.
  • Enforce on-farm health, safety and biosecurity standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 3–5 years' hands-on farm/production management experience (vegetable/horticulture preferred).

  • Practical experience with irrigation; drip/solar/IoT a strong advantage.
  • Sound budgeting, record-keeping and basic computer skills.
  • A valid driver's licence.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, planning and organisational ability; hands-on and results-driven.
  • Sound agronomic judgement and practical problem-solving.

  • Anticipates and addresses issues early before they impact production.

Purpose of the Role

The Horticulture Expert provides specialist horticultural and agronomic expertise to drive crop quality, yield and continuous improvement. Working at 50% level of effort alongside the Farm Manager, the role designs crop and nutrition plans, leads integrated pest and disease management, sets agronomic standards, and builds the technical capacity of the farm team. This is a technical advisory role rather than a day-to-day operational one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and update the crop plan, rotation and planting calendar to optimise yield, quality and soil health.
  • Advise on crop and variety selection suited to Morija's conditions and market demand.
  • Develop soil-health, fertilisation and fertigation programmes based on testing.
  • Design and oversee an integrated pest and disease management (IPDM) programme.
  • Diagnose crop pests, diseases and disorders and recommend safe, cost-effective interventions.
  • Introduce climate-smart and innovative horticultural techniques; support trials.
  • Build the skills of the Farm Manager and team through coaching and training materials.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Project/Farm Manager and contribute agronomic input to project reporting.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Horticulture, Crop Science, Agronomy, Plant/Soil Science or related field; postgraduate an advantage.
  • At least 5 years' specialist horticultural experience (high-value or protected cropping preferred).
  • Proven expertise in crop planning, plant nutrition/fertigation and pest/disease management.
  • Track record of improving crop yields and quality under commercial conditions.
  • Experience training or advising farmers or farm teams highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep, practical agronomic knowledge with sound, evidence-based judgement.
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into clear guidance for non-specialists.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and mentoring; fluency in Sesotho and English highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Anticipates and addresses issues early before they impact production.

About the Role

4D Climate Solutions (Maseru) is a climate and development consultancy that designs and builds a suite of digital products used across Lesotho and Southern Africa. We're looking for a creative, organised and data-aware Social Media Marketing Specialist to own our day-to-day social media presence across our products and corporate brands on a part-time, fully remote basis — planning and publishing content, growing and engaging our communities, running paid social campaigns, and reporting on what's working.

Content & Community

  • Plan, create and schedule engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok for our products and corporate brands.
  • Maintain a content calendar that keeps each brand active and consistent; write clear, on-brand copy and captions per platform.
  • Produce or source simple visuals and short-form video (e.g. using Canva or similar tools).
  • Monitor, respond to and grow our online communities, and stay current on platform trends and best practices.

Paid Social & Campaigns

  • Set up, run and optimise paid social campaigns (primarily Meta; LinkedIn and others as needed), managing modest ad budgets responsibly.
  • Support product launches and promotions with coordinated organic and paid activity.
  • Test creative, audiences and messaging, and iterate based on results.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track key metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, click-throughs, conversions, ad spend/ROAS).
  • Produce simple, regular reports with performance, learnings and recommendations, and use insights to refine over time.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years managing social media for a brand, business or clients (internships and freelance count).
  • Hands-on familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, and with paid social ads (e.g. Meta Ads Manager).
  • Strong written English and a good eye for visual content; comfort with Canva and basic short-form video editing.
  • Ability to read basic analytics and turn numbers into clear takeaways.
  • Self-motivated and well-organised, able to work independently in a remote, part-time setup; reliable internet and your own device.

Nice to Have

  • Experience marketing across multiple brands or products; familiarity with scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Later, Hootsuite).
  • Graphic design or video editing beyond templates; exposure to Google Analytics, email marketing or influencer/community partnerships.

What We Offer

  • Fully remote, flexible part-time schedule (~8–10 hours/week) with real ownership of social media across several growing brands.
  • Variety, autonomy and visible impact — with potential to grow scope and hours as the business grows.

How to Apply

Apply using the form below by 3 July 2026. In your cover note, please include links to social accounts you've managed and one or two samples of content you've created (optionally, a paid-campaign result you're proud of).
